The Trawler Restaurant, built in 1974, quickly established itself as a local landmark. When John and Marion Long bought the restaurant in 2002, they brought along their culinary and business experience while preserving all that the Trawler has come to stand for on the Eastern Shore: Great food, unique atmosphere, great service, hospitality, great entertainment and local tradition.

Head Chef and Co-owner, John Long, is a 1988 culinary arts graduate of Johnson & Wales University. His career has taken him from Paul's Restaurant in Cheriton to The Trellis Restaurant in Williamsburg, the five-star Williamsburg Inn, and the Powhatan Plantation Colonial Tavern.

Restaurant Manager and Co-owner, Marion Long is an Old Dominion University graduate, whose experience includes managing the First Colony Coffee & Tea Co., a full-service Norfolk restaurant.

With their purchase of the Trawler Restaurant, they have returned home - to the Eastern Shore - uniting their experience, and continuing the tradition of a family owned restaurant.

With the help of their family, and extended family of the Trawler Restaurant, they strive to provide the highest quality of food, service and hospitality.
